The Physical Side Of Growth
The AI buildout is turning electricity infrastructure into a growth business. The International Energy Agency estimates that data-center electricity demand rose 17% in 2025, compared with 3% for electricity demand worldwide. Its latest report also points to tighter supplies of transformers and other equipment, alongside delays connecting new facilities to the grid.
That gap helps explain why we’re looking at a supplier of the equipment needed to distribute power:

Our second bullish idea comes from another physical bottleneck: tungsten. The metal’s hardness and heat resistance make it useful in industrial cutting tools and defense applications. An operating producer outside of China offers exposure to that demand and to the effort to diversify supply.
A Bearish Trade Alongside The Bulls
Our third trade comes from Earnings Downgrades in a Downtrend v.1, the screen we developed with the assistance of a frontier AI model. We’re trying trades in businesses we’re personally bearish on when earnings estimates and the share price are both weakening. These positions can also provide a partial hedge against a market downturn.
Today’s bullish ideas came from our Chartmill feed and our Market Watchers research. Below, we’ll start with the electrical-equipment trade, then cover the tungsten shares and the bearish trade, with entry limits and exit plans for each.
