Two miners illustrate lost conviction versus continued research in biotech and AI: LOST CONVICTION—Biotech & AI investors; KEPT RESEARCHING—Trusted the process. Recent results highlighted: AXTI +95% on maximum risk and GMAB +745% on an extra call.

The Research Is Starting To Pay Off

Wednesday rewarded the work we’ve kept doing in biotech and the AI stack.

Genmab gained about 28%, while Prime Medicine and Replimune each rose about 23%. Twist Bioscience and ClearPoint Neuro added about 9% apiece. Glaukos then jumped more than 16% after hours following earnings.

AI infrastructure names joined the rally: Vertiv gained about 16%, while AXT rose about 11%. We closed Monday’s AXT options trade for a gain of about 95% on maximum risk in two days. We also sold a Genmab call for a gain of about 745% on that call while keeping the calendar open.

Here are the historical entry plans, including their Chartmill ratings, followed by Wednesday’s actual exits.

Historical AXT (AXTI) original entry plan above actual full exit. Three-contract November 6, 2026 $57 long / October 30 $62 short call diagonal: published maximum debit $2.10 and $630 risk. Actual entry October 26 at $2.10; actual full exit October 28 at $4.10 credit. Profit $600 on original $630 maximum risk: 95.2% in two calendar days. This specific AXT trade is closed.
Original October 26th entry plan and October 28th full exit.

Historical Genmab (GMAB) original entry plan above actual partial exit of the extra call. Original published hybrid plan: two February 19, 2027 $40 long calls, one January 15, 2027 $40 short call and one February $30/$25 put spread, maximum net debit $1.60; actual package filled at $1.50. Extra February $40 call bought September 10 at $2.22 and sold October 28 at $18.75: 744.6% premium return on that call in 48 calendar days. The calendar remains open; this is a partial exit.
Original September 10th entry plan and October 28th call sale.

More Biotech Trades Ahead

We’ve kept refining how we find ideas, choose entries, structure trades and manage positions. That work is starting to show up in the results, alongside the benefits of staying focused on industries where the underlying progress continues.

In biotech, clinical advances and AI-assisted research are meeting a more promising policy backdrop. The FDA’s biologics division has new leadership under Karim Mikhail, selected in September. Its proposed framework for individualized gene-editing treatments could make it easier to develop therapies for rare diseases. CMS also plans to broaden its access model for cell and gene therapies, addressing how those treatments get paid for.

The advances are concrete. Twist’s new antibody screening service can help researchers test thousands of candidates a day, with turnaround starting at five days. That’s the experimental capacity AI-driven drug discovery needs.

The same acceleration caught Elon Musk’s attention late Wednesday. Responding to a post about biotech breakthroughs, he noted that an exponential “always starts off looking small.”

If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.

this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last
