Trade Alert: Agritech and Optical Networking
Bullish options trades on two of our top ten names from last night.
Signals From Last Night’s Top Ten
One of the most reliable tells from our system is when multiple names from the same theme cluster into the daily Top Ten. Historically, when that happens, it has often preceded strong sector-level moves—and that’s exactly what we saw last night.
Two different clusters lit up:
AI infrastructure / optical networking, where several names pushed into the very top ranks, consistent with the large-cap AI buildout continuing beneath the surface.
Cannabis & cultivation, with both a grower and a related ETF showing up simultaneously. I’m not a fan of legalized marijuana personally, but business is business—and sector clustering has been one of the cleaner signals in our process.
This matters because our Top Names continue to post extremely strong results across full 6-month periods. Over the 134 six-month cohorts since late 2022, our top names have returned an average of 20.58%, versus 10.23% for SPY over the same windows—more than double the market’s return.
Given last night’s lineup—and the strength of the clusters involved—we’re taking two defined-risk shots today, one in each theme. Paid subscribers will find the full details below.

Exiting These Trades
My plan:
VFF
Calls (leg 1): Open a GTC limit order to sell half of the calls at $1.90. If that fills, I’ll post a GTC limit sell price for the second half of the calls in the comments here and via chat/email; if not, I’ll lower the price on all the calls as necessary, as we approach expiration.
Puts (leg 2): None. These puts will either expire worthless or get assigned. If they get assigned, I’ll hold the shares as long as I hold the calls.
CIEN
Call spread (legs 1 & 2): Open a GTC limit order to sell the call spread for $16.00, and lower that price if necessary as we approach expiration.
Put spread (legs 3 & 4): Open a GTC limit order to buy back the put spread at $0.20, and raise that if necessary as we approach expiration.
