Trade Alert: After Friday's Silver Crash
Bullish bets on our system's current #1 name, a silver ETF, and our system's #2 name, a Chinese tech leader. Plus, a bet on an industrial laser stock that just cleared our technical screens.
Buying The Post-Flush Dip—Carefully
Friday’s metals crash was a useful reminder that even the strongest trends can go vertical and then just… reverse. Silver was down more than 30% peak-to-trough in a blink, gold and copper took big hits too, and the broader equity market barely flinched. If you were all-in on one theme with no plan, that kind of move was a gut-check.
If you’ve been following along here, you know we’ve been doing the opposite: taking partial profits into strength and rotating into new ideas when our screens say the odds are better. That’s how we were able to scale out of several metals names into this week’s selloff instead of riding them all the way down.
A common question from newer readers is: how are we able to enter so many trades? The answer is that we’re selective about the prices we pay. Some of the trades I write about here don’t fill in my own account, because I refuse to chase them. I post a limit price based on a model or fair-value estimate; if the market gives it to us, great. If not, we move on.
That discipline extends to exits as well. By setting good ‘till closed limit exit orders when we open a trade, we’re constantly freeing up capital as names hit their targets. Last week alone we had more than a dozen partial and full exits in prior winners, which is why we can go back to the well now in a few places that just got marked down.
Today’s alert follows that pattern. We’re:
Betting on a Chinese search and AI leader that just showed in our top ten names on Friday.
Taking a measured flyer on a silver ETF that was our system’s #1 name overall, after Friday’s crash, with an options structure that uses elevated implied volatility to help finance the upside.
Adding a defense and industrial laser manufacturer whose chart finally looks constructive after the latest flush, with a balance-sheet health score that clears our bar.
As usual, we’re only willing to do any of this at our prices. The first step toward a successful exit is a smart entry.
Full details on all three trades, including our pre-set exit orders so we don’t have to babysit them, are below.
