This Week’s Trade Exits

No exits this week, as I haven’t gotten back into our core strategy directly yet (instead, I have sold puts on a couple of top names), but since I started this Substack in December of 2022, our top names have averaged returns of 16.61%% over the next six months, versus SPY’s average of 9.37%. Here’s how our most recent weekly top ten names cohort to finish its 6-month run did:

One short-term trade approach that has worked in the past is buying weekly calls on Portfolio Armor top ten names after a big drop. It doesn’t work always though, and our Ouster (OUST 5.23%↑) calls expiring worthless today was an example of that.
Regarding the other exit here, Sana Biotechnology ( SANA 5.81%↑), our friend David Janello, the author of Nuclear Options Trading, suggested exercising these calls at expiration instead, as this is a stock we want to be greedy about. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel this sell order after our conversation.
I do still have longer-dated call options and shares as well on SANA.

As a reminder, you can find Portfolio Armor’s top ten names daily on the Portfolio Armor iPhone app (or website). You can also use either one to scan for optimal hedges based on your risk tolerance and time frame.
