America as an Ideological Empire

One line in my previous post that got some pushback elsewhere was that, unlike today’s Russia and China, America is an ideological empire–consider how we pushed LGBT ideology on Afghanistan, of all places, as late as last year.

Darren Beattie has a good post on the distortions of 20th Century American history that have been motivated by our reigning ideology. None of these examples are new to me, but some of them may be to you.
